67 ballot papers snatched in NA-52 Rawalpindi Print E-mail

RAWALPINDI: A man snatched 67 ballot papers from women at a polling station in a constituency NA-52 of Rawalpindi and managed to flee from the scene.

Presiding officer of polling station 297 of chak Jaladin Abdul Waheed told Geo News that a man entered forcibly into women section and snatched 67 ballot papers.


He said that for National Assembly, ballot papers serial number 163401 to 163500 were issued and ballot papers serial number 372801 to 372900 issued for provincial assembly among which only 33 votes had been cast.

Abdul Waheed said that these ballot papers have been cancelled and report has been registered to police as well as Election Commission has also informed about the incident.

Elections in Pakistan violence claims three lives, several injured,

LAHORE: Three people were killed and more than 40 injured in fresh wave of violence across Punjab on the Election Day. Electoral process was suspended for hours in many polling stations. Police and Rangers held scores of miscreants.

Incidents of violence were reported from Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Qasur, Sialkot, Gujrat, Kamonki, Sheikhupura, Dera Ghazi Khan, Narang Mandi, Gujranwala, Bhakkar, Vehari, Sahiwal and other cities. Thirty women were held with fake national identity cards in PP 34 polling station in Sargodha.
