QUETTA: Strongly reacting to the reports of the likely drone air strikes in Balochistan by the United States (US), Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani asserted on Friday that they would condemn such a move and would do everything possible in this regard.

Talking to media persons in his chamber soon after the session of the provincial assembly, the chief minister said the US drone attacks would be violation of the international laws and

they would have the right to take up the issue with the United Nations.

Raisani said the people of Balochistan are united over the issue, and he would take up the issue with the US ambassador in Islamabad and would convey his concern in this regard. ìI will ask the US ambassador to remove our concerns over the report of the drone attacks in Balochistan.î QUETTA: Strongly reacting to the reports of the likely drone air strikes in Balochistan by the United States (US), Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani asserted on Friday that they would condemn such a move and would do everything possible in this regard.

Talking to media persons in his chamber soon after the session of the provincial assembly, the chief minister said the US drone attacks would be violation of the international laws and

they would have the right to take up the issue with the United Nations.

Raisani said the people of Balochistan are united over the issue, and he would take up the issue with the US ambassador in Islamabad and would convey his concern in this regard. ìI will ask the US ambassador to remove our concerns over the report of the drone attacks in Balochistan.î

Raisani said he has also taken up the issue with President Asif Ali Zardari. Regarding the presence of Taliban outfits in Balochistan, he said there are two types of Taliban, ie, one the militant Taliban and secondly those who are studying in Madaris (religious seminaries). ìOurs are not militant Taliban; they are peaceful,î he noted. He said they condemn terrorism in all its forms.

If the American CIA has any proof about the presence of Taliban supreme commander Mulla Muhammad Omar in Balochistan then the CIA must pinpoint the hideout, and we will hand him over to the CIA, he added.

About the politics of Punjab, Raisani said in his opinion the majority for government formation in Punjab rests with Mian Shahbaz Sharif. He hoped that the governorís rule would come to an end very soon.About the recovery of UNHCR Quetta head, John Solecki, he said efforts are underway for his safe recovery and he would be released soon.

Commenting on the list of 1,109 missing persons provided by the Baloch Liberation United Front (BLUF), the chief minister said they had thoroughly examined the list, and all the persons pointed out in the list are not missing.

Replying to a query about the rollback of the local government system in Balochistan, he said the law and order situation was created due to this system, therefore we decided to roll it back and restore the commissionorate system in the province.

Earlier, the Balochistan Assembly unanimously adopted resolutions concerning protection of home based workers in Balochistan and the reconciliatory role played by Nawab Aslam Raisani in the countryís political and judicial crisis.

Parliamentary Leader of PML-Q Sheikh Jaffar Mandokhel tabled an adjournment motion concerning likely expulsion of Pashtoons from Karachi. The motion said there is a move to expel Pashtoons from Karachi in the name of Talibanisation, which Jaffar Mandokhel termed uncalled for. Mandokhel also termed it a conspiracy to spread parochialism against the spirit of the federation. The resolution was approved for discussion in the next session today (Saturday).

Minister for Law and Parliamentary Affairs Rubina Irfan tabled a joint resolution demanding protection for the home based workers under the labour laws. Both the resolutions were adopted without objection from anyone in the house.

Provincial Irrigation Minister Sardar Aslam Bizenjo tabled a resolution in which the reconciliatory role of Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani between the Federation and the Sharif brothers as well as resolving the judicial crisis in the country was lauded.

APP adds: “If US violates airspace in Balochistan then hatred will increase against America in the province, and the people will believe that the Obama administration is pursuing the policies of its predecessor, the Bush administration in the region,” he said.

The CM said the provincial government would not tolerate the violation of its airspace by any power. He strongly dispelled the impression that Taliban chief Mulla Omar was in Balochistan, and said he believed Mulla Omar was hiding in Afghanistan.

He said all missing persons were not among the disappeared ones as many of them might have left their native villages and shifted to some other parts of the country. He said efforts were in progress to locate and recover the missing people in the province.
